Other less common methods to make your veggies grow

There are many homemade manures that you can do to make your veggies grow faster and healthier, but not all these natural fertilizers are made for everybody.

Which one on this following list can you handle?

1) Seaweed

You haven’t taken the first swim of the year in the sea yet? There are not many audacious out there to take a swim in the sea at this time of the year, but hey! If you’re doing it do not miss the chance and get some seaweed for your vegetable garden.

Algaes have very beneficial properties for the soil. They contain trace elements and are brilliant as a food source for soil microbes. Chop a small bucket of seaweed and add it to 18 liters of water. Let it sit for 2-3 weeks loosely covered. Use it to soak the soil and foliage. Two cups work well for a small plant, four cups for medium plants, and six cups for a large plant.

Don't be afraid, experiment with the quantities. And if you also combine the algae with other fertilizers, the quality of your garden will be optimal this year.

2) Dog and cat food

If you have pets, you have a great fertilizer in their food. Keep all the leftovers in a plastic container. The pet food contains proteins and micronutrients that are very beneficial for the soil. When you have collected enough food, take a large container and mix it with soil and water. Once it is well mixed, cover it with a cardboard and some holes so that it breathes and now it would only be necessary to let it rest for about three weeks.

In this period, the compost that you have just made with the remains of your pet’s food will decompose and now you will only have to squeeze it to extract all the juice from the mixture and dilute it in water to be able to apply it on your veggies.

Spray it to the ground with any of our products and in a few weeks you will begin to see the first results.

3) Fish emulsion

If strong smells don't disgust you, this is your fertilizer.

Making your own fish emulsion fertilizer may seem like an unpleasant thing to do, but if you find yourself able to tolerate the smell it is worth a try.

This natural fertilizer has a high content of organic nitrogen, soluble phosphorus and potassium, so it returns the micronutrients to the soil and constantly rebuilds it.

Its elaboration has no mystery. Three ingredients are enough. You only need some fresh fish, three sawdust parts, a bottle of sulfur-free molasses and finally you will just need to add a little water. Place the mixture in a large container with a lid, stir and rotate daily for about two weeks until the fish breaks down.

Once the decomposition period has passed, you just have to strain the emulsion and store it in a container (preferably glass). Now it is only a matter of choosing the sprayer that best suits your needs and pouring a tablespoon of emulsion per 3.5 liters of water.
