Choosing a Matabi nozzle is vital for a successful crop protection treatment.
The biological efficacy of a treatment is highly dependent on the coverage and droplet size achieved by the nozzle. Choosing the proper nozzle for each plant and treatment is essential for a good result. Each type of crop, treatment and plant requires a different kind of spray to achieve the correct dosage and droplet size for each case.
More than one spray nozzle is required for all situations. Matabi equipment comes with a selection of universal nozzles adapted to each situation. These are the most common nozzle types:
Adjustable conical nozzle.
The standard nozzle on most Matabi sprayers. This nozzle is very popular due to its versatility, as it can be adapted to different application needs. The open cone allows small areas to be sprayed, providing a fine spray, and a simple twist of the nozzle provides a narrower cone suitable for spot treatments or in-line applications, e.g. between tiles and on pathways.
Fan nozzle
Spray nozzles for post-emergence contact selective herbicides requiring good coverage.
The fan nozzle is typically distinguished by a rectangular or elliptical opening, unlike cone or jet nozzles that deliver a more concentrated spray pattern. As the liquid or air is expelled through the nozzle, it is dispersed in a wide pattern, allowing a larger area to be covered more efficiently.
Mirror nozzle
This is a nozzle with a wide opening angle designed for herbicide application, generally in pre-emergence, requiring a larger droplet-size spray.
This thicker droplet production reduces the risk of drift. Also, its features make it suitable for the time-saving application of a pre-emergence herbicide, as it can treat twice as much area in the same amount of time. Therefore, the application time is halved when treating a large area.

Disc nozzle
This nozzle is a hollow cone-shaped application nozzle. It is suitable for more precise application of insecticides or fungicides.
It is recommended for full-coverage spraying. For the application of fungicides and insecticides on various crops requiring fine droplets for spike treatment or good penetration.
